Mission

Working collaboratively to effectively establish goals and improve the quality of life for my clients. This includes empowering clients, capitalizing on their strengths, serving as a facilitator of hope, change, and growth.

Most people want change, but change can be almost frightening when we lack a roadmap to understand where we are going. I facilitate the transformational process by
helping my clients identify their issues and establish a plan of action.

With couples, I first assess their communications skills.  I typically begin with some education on basic communications skills and then provide coaching and exercises to improve their communications skills. During the practice of these communication skills,
we discuss the important and often repetitive concerns of that particular relationship, thus hitting “two birds with one stone”:  Theory and Application. Failure of the relationship to move forward is often the result of poor communication skills.

With individuals, I encourage my clients to progress through insight, awareness, confronting fears, and learning the role of emotions and cognitions in mental
health.  I encourage expression of emotions as well as help clients identify cognitions which might be burdening their progress.

My mission is effective therapy for individuals, couples and families.  I DO NOT serve as an expert witness or testify in court proceedings for divorce or child custody issues.
